Hi,

On Signal currently, it is possible to export plaintext conversation,
however, it is not possible to export identity keys.

This post talks about removing this feature:
https://whispersystems.org/blog/streamlining-textsecure-settings/

(This post does mention a cloud-based export feature. However, having the
option to export to a file would be ideal, I think many people would be
uncomfortable with only a cloud-based export option.)

And again here: https://github.com/WhisperSystems/Signal-Android/issues/802

Anyway, the ability to export/backup identity keys would be useful, as
currently when I change devices, I need to re-verify a new FP with my
contacts, and this would make changing devices significantly easier.

Thanks! Apologies if this is already in the plan for upcoming releases.

It used to be in TextSecure but it was removed due to some minor issues.
However, the code is still there (commented out, it need only minor
changes to make it build). Adding this is one of the reasons I run my
own compiled version. Silence (former SMSSecure, a fork that aims at sms
encryption) has put it back in and I have not seen any issues with it in
on Github.

Otherwise a decent backup tool like Titanium Backup can backup Signal
settings but that requires root.
