Where did you get the apk?

If you join the beta program you get early releases of updates before they
go out to everyone.

Also the play store takes a few days to propagate updates to everyone.

Just get the app from the play store and you'll be fine. Another test is to
compare this file using the apk diff tool provided in the source. Then
you'll know for sure if it's legitimate.

3.16.0 is the beta version - check the Github source. If you subscribe
to beta's you can receive it already from the play store. If no
(serious) errors are found in it will be released to all users after
some time, otherwise a fix will be released as 3.16.1.
