Hello,
I have an idea to submit, This is to create a public server pool and
anyone who possaide a server can participate.
This also helps to distribute the load over the world.
A bit like NTP pool

Currently, because of the use of phone number as identifiers, servers
need to trust each other for registration, so this is not possible.

How does this currently work? There is only one server, or one server
pool, handling everything?

Could the phone number validation be a trusted function? That is, a
validation binding could be signed attestation across some time period.
The servers then just need to gossip / verify based on that.
